Future of a Career in Oracle

August 12, 2014

One of the top queries asked by participants and students is which career to choose?

Choosing the right career is a very important decision in life. We all want good money and great designations but taking the right decision is more important.

To those seeking our advise we advise taking up a career involving Oracle technology. Oracle as a technology is a fabulous one which is continuously evolving. It is ideal for those who look for challenges in their workplace and like to learn new skills and technology.

Over the last few years Oracle Corporation has acquired numerous companies and technologies. These are being integrated into the Oracle product stack in a phased manner. So there is bound to be good learning and challenges for anyone working in this stack. Naturally faster anyone gets into this domain better it is for them as it will give them longer time to acquire the new skills.

When one is not sure of which domain to choose then one should opt for a path for eg. Java Development or Pl-SQL development. Even a very basic skill like Java or SQL is worth learning in the long run as one has lot of opportunity to upskill in their chosen path.

In the Java Development path, one needs Core Java or Basic Java to get started. However, majority of the work in the industry is happening in advanced areas of Java using frameworks like Hibernate, Spring etc. Besides, with the introduction of Service Oriented Architecture model, front-end development has become very open. So there is no longer any dependence on any particular tool
